2001 Chacircteau dAngludet Margaux Magnum

Chacircteau d39Angludet has been the Sichel family home since 1961. Dating back to the 12th century, it is one of the oldest wine estates in the Meacutedoc, its name referring to Bertrand d39Angludet, knight, nobleman and owner of the property in 1150. Situated on a plateau of Garonne gravel, overlooking the Gironde estuary. Its terroir of gravel sand soil improves drainage in the soil, a key factor in increasing concentration, finesse and elegance in the final wines. Managed today by Benjamin Sichel, Angludet39s 32 hectare AOC Margaux vineyard is planted with 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. The relatively high proportion of this last variety requires great care and attention but brings a rewarding and distinctive depth and richness to the wine.
